Meet Sara and Kevin! We got this submission and it was a true treat to read what Sara wrote about her and Kevin’s wedding day. Take a minute to read about their magical weekend. Don’t forget to look through the gorgeous pictures, too!
“Our wedding vibe was “up north”, Minnesota lakes, whimsical, elegant, joyful, and family/friend oriented. The Labor Day Weekend festivities kicked off with a bonfire on the beach of Gull Lake at Grand View Lodge.
The fathers of the bride/groom hosted the event with s’mores and craft beer (a nod [to our] first meeting at the Beer Dabbler 5 summers earlier). There was cool crisp humidity-free air, and a beautiful pink-orange sunset. The rehearsal dinner took place on the Gull Lake Cruises North Star Yacht.
It was a quintessential summer Minnesota evening with close friends/family soaking in the sunshine and music. The wedding took place at the Northern Pacific Center, a 47-acre campus built in the 1800s, originally part of the NP Railroad, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The ceremony and cocktail hour were at Luminary Fern – bright and whimsical, and the reception at NP Event Space – industrial and elegant.
There were details galore – vintage furniture, glassware, custom brewery corn hole boards, family wedding pictures, a dessert table spread, kids activity table, signature cocktails, choreographed first dance. Each bridesmaid picked her own Jenny Yoo dress – collectively resembling a lake color. The groomsmen wore duck socks. Flower girls/ring bearers were our nieces/nephews!”
