    Customer Review

As a busy bride I appreciated the package the Chanhassen Provides. Makes planning easy and all vendors work together regularly so it went perfectly! Two weeks later people are still raving about the food. You don’t hear that about weddings often! The folks at the Chanhassen from event coordinators (Britnee and Halley) to DJ (Tim) made sure the day went smooth from start to finish. They even cleaned up and had everything boxed and ready for us to pick up the next day. The space is fabulous, everyone thought it was unique and fun. If you are looking for a unique space and hassle free wedding reception this is it!! And it is reasonably priced to boot! Thanks to all who made this day perfect!!!

    Horrible customer service!

I’ve provided a bullet point list and you can decide for yourself if this is the kind of service you want on your wedding day.

•They double booked weddings on the same day back to back, so we had to move up our ceremony time a month and a half before the wedding. Including sending out revised invites. We were never notified another wedding was booked the same day and it never stated in the contract another wedding could be booked on the same day on the same site…
•We found out they doubled booked weddings after our meeting with Halley and after our last payment was received, convenient much?
•I called the general manager of Chanhassen Dinner Theater’s to express my concerns and heard nothing back.
•They told us the other wedding wouldn’t be at the site until after 4pm, they showed up at 2pm the day of the wedding taking pictures the same time as us.
•Halley never informed me she wouldn’t be at the rehearsal, even though I emailed her 2 days before and she said “See you Friday”…her assistant ran our rehearsal.
•The assistant wedding planner asked me if I wanted to run the rehearsal. I’m paying you money to be here so why would I run my own rehearsal? She didn’t have any of my information- including our wedding party list etc…even though I graciously sent her a hardcopy of the wedding party order 2 days prior.
•They told us to make a wedding playlist on our ipod, and the night of the rehearsal they told us they had a new music system and we could no longer use our ipod. So I had to email our wedding playlist the night before our wedding at 12:30am. Also because of this we were unable to practice our wedding ceremony with music, which was a huge disappointment.
•They messed up my wedding song – I was supposed to walk down the isle to the instrumental version of the song, which I clearly stated in bold font in the email sent the night before. But they played the lyrical version.
•I was standing in the ceremony site while they were setting up chairs and the staff, including Halley were talking about how these brides (aka me) thought they could set up this site by themselves and we don’t understand all the work that goes into planning a wedding…so basically they were talking crap about me while I was standing there waiting to do my first look with my future husband. And FYI I know how hard it is to plan a wedding, thanks!
•The entire experience Halley never fully explained things and never followed up with me, I was always the one making the effort which I felt was unprofessional since I was paying her to be our wedding coordinator.
•We had 2 golf carts reserved for the wedding to help our grandparents get to and from the ceremony site. They had 2 teenage girls in the carts that never offered to help, they didn’t even introduce themselves…they just sat in the golf carts playing on their cell phones. I had to walk to up them during pictures to ask if they were even here for our wedding party.
•Halley and her entire team didn’t come up to me or my fiancé AT ALL the day of the wedding…they pretty much just ignored us.

Halley is in the wrong profession of being “wedding planner/coordinator”. Never in my life have I paid someone over a thousand dollars to help me that couldn’t have cared less about our wedding. As a bride you deal with a lot people when planning your wedding and Chanhassen Dinner Theater’s was the only difficult one for me. I hope reading this I can save at least one bride from having to deal with these people.

    Best Wedding!

My daughter Christina Ploog got married last Friday at CDT and I wanted to tell you how well things went. Everyone I spoke to said it was the best wedding they could remember. The dsy was cool with some rain so having everything at one location was a blessing. The facility was great, everyone seemed to enjoy th r ir dinner and the site worked out great for dancing after dinner.
I have seen several productions you have put on and was surprised at how many of our guests hadn’t been there before. I encouraged them to take in a play, ensuring them that they would have a great evening.

Another big plus was the Courtyard motel next door. We had a lot of out of town friends and relatives and booked over 20 rooms. They all appreciated being able to stay next to the wedding site.

We held the grooms dinner at Axels right across the street and that worked out great ad well.

If anyone sasks I will give CDT a strong recommendation. Thanks for making our special day extra special.

    Fabulous!

We cannot thank you enough for everything you both did to make our wedding day fabulous! You were great to work with – so kind, generous and organized. All the extra things you did for us at the end totally made the rooms look so perfect! The chandeliers, colored chair covers, runners, napkins, dance area décor, lights, etc, al made it so beautiful. Even with the last minute room changes it turned out better than what we originally had planned. You ladies are phenomenal! Thank you!!

    Thank You...Thank You

    Britnee,

    Amazing!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

We had so many great comments about the CDT. I cannot believe the great service and how we were made to feel like we were the only ones in the world having a special event. Even the couple cleaning up on Sunday morning told us that it was important that we had a special and fun time at our wedding. We heard that statement many times during the weekend… it was all about us!!!

We definitely made the RIGHT choice on our venue!

Please pass this on to Halley also.

    Sincerely,

    Suzie B

    Wonderful Reception

    Halley-

Our thanks to you and your associates at Chanhassen Dinner Theatre for helping us put on a wonderful reception for Cassandra and Harrison’s wedding. Everything was first class, including the food, the service, the beer-wine-liquor, Chris, Steve and the other bartender, Carl at the karaoke, and of course, Tim running the dance party and ram-rodding the entire event. Betsy and I had a great time, as did Cassie and Harry and, I think, all of the guests. Your hard work, planning, experience, and ability to listen and solve problems as they arose made the special day even more special. I can think of nothing that could have made the dinner and reception any better.

    Thanks again, Halley.

    THANK YOU!

I just wanted to thank you and the rest of the Chanhassen staff for making our day so amazing in Saturday! It was truly the best day. Everything went so smoothy, and I know that a big part of that is due to all the behind the scenes work before and on Saturday.
Britnee was excellent at our rehearsal and our ceremony! She did a great job explaining the process, and taking care of us before and during the ceremony.
Henry also did a fantastic job! The ceremony, cocktail hour, and dance were flawless. He even played a fun shoe game with us during the dinner.
Thanks again for everything! Our day was truly perfect from start to finish, even the weather and fall colors were beautiful!
